Your Lie in April
Your Lie in April streams on Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Hulu, and it's one of anime's great tear-jerkers, so keep tissues within reach. Kosei was a celebrated piano prodigy until his mother's death robbed him of the ability to hear his own playing, leaving his world grey and muted. Then a free-spirited violinist named Kaori crashes into his life and drags him back toward music, and toward feeling again. Gorgeously animated, carried by real classical performances, and completely unafraid to break your heart.
About
As a child, Kosei Arima was a machine at the piano, a competition-winning prodigy trained relentlessly by his mother. When she died, something in him broke, and he found he could no longer hear the notes he played, an affliction that pushed music entirely out of his life. Years later he drifts through his days in muted color, content enough alongside his childhood friends, until a brilliant, impulsive violinist named Kaori bursts into his world. She plays by feel rather than by rules, and she's determined to pull Kosei back to the instrument he abandoned, whatever it takes.
