Ajin turns immortality into a reason to fear capture rather than a fantasy of living forever. Netflix carries the series and is the place to begin with the 2016 first season. About
Kei Nagai discovers that he is an Ajin after a fatal accident fails to keep him dead. The discovery makes him a target, since the authorities want to contain Ajin and study what their bodies can endure. Forced to flee, Kei approaches each danger with a detached instinct for self-preservation rather than the usual heroic resolve. Another Ajin, Satou, responds to persecution by turning his regenerative ability into a weapon against the government. Their opposing aims drive a tense struggle over freedom, retaliation and how far either side will go when death no longer ends a fight. The premise stays focused on the consequences of immortality without giving away the larger turns.
