Guilty Crown

6.9TV · 22 eps · 2011

Guilty Crown streams on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Netflix, and it's one of the most visually striking sci-fi tragedies of its era. Gorgeous animation, a soaring soundtrack, and a timid hero who can pull weapons straight out of people's hearts make it an unforgettable, divisive ride. If you like your mecha-tinged dystopias big, emotional, and stylish, give it a shot.

About

A meteor strike unleashed a lethal plague on Japan, and the fallout left Shu a withdrawn, fearful teenager who lost almost everything. His quiet life cracks open when he crosses paths with Inori, a mysterious pop star tied to an underground resistance. Through her, Shu gains a strange power that lets him draw a person's true self out as a weapon. Caught between a shadowy government body and the rebels who want that ability for themselves, he's forced to decide what kind of person he's going to become as the country tears itself apart.
