Darling in the Franxx
Darling in the FranXX builds its mecha battles around paired teenage pilots whose closeness matters as much as their combat ability. Crunchyroll and Netflix carry the finished 2018 TV series, with regional catalogs determining which service works for you. Across 24 episodes, it moves between action and an increasingly psychological romance, asking what its young pilots want beyond the role assigned to them. It suits viewers who enjoy emotionally charged robot anime and do not mind a story that makes bold turns. Set aside roughly 24 minutes for each episode.
About
Humanity survives inside moving fortress cities while creatures outside threaten what remains of civilization. Children are trained to operate FranXX mecha in pairs, with little understanding of the society they protect or the lives they might have chosen. Hiro has lost his ability to pilot when he meets Zero Two, a horned girl whose history with partners has made her feared. Their unusual compatibility gives him another chance in the cockpit, but it also disrupts the rules surrounding the pilots. The battles supply the scale, while the personal tension comes from adolescents trying to understand affection and identity in a system that treats them as tools.
