The Republic of San Magnolia insists its war against the neighboring Empire is bloodless, waged entirely by autonomous drones. Vladilena Milizé, an idealistic young handler, commands one such squad by remote and slowly confronts the injustice she has been part of, while the soldiers on the front line fight a war they were never meant to survive.
