Fate/Zero is a prequel, while Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel follow two branches of the same Holy Grail War. They use the same characters and starting situation, but their stories go in sharply different directions. The series revolves around a magical tournament that returns to Fuyuki City. Seven mages each summon a legendary hero drawn from history, myth, or legend, then fight over a relic said to grant one wish.
