About
Haru is an ordinary, slightly scattered high schooler who saves a cat from traffic — and the cat thanks her. Verbally. Turns out she rescued the prince of the Cat Kingdom, and feline royalty repays debts aggressively: gifts of mice, catnip, and an unwanted betrothal to the prince himself. Haru's only hope is the Cat Bureau and its dapper statue-come-to-life, Baron Humbert von Gikkingen, aided by the enormous grump Muta. As Haru is spirited into a kingdom where staying too long means becoming a cat forever, the film turns into a brisk, charming caper about knowing your own mind. Fans of Whisper of the Heart will recognize the Baron and Muta — this is a playful spin-off from that film's imagination.
