About
Life in the seaside town of Fujisawa has finally settled into something like happiness for high-schooler Sakuta Azusagawa and his girlfriend, the actress Mai Sakurajima — until the girl who once saved his life reappears. Shouko Makinohara, Sakuta's first crush, turns up in two forms at once: one still a middle-schooler, one somehow grown into an adult. As the adult Shouko inserts herself into his daily life, the careful balance Sakuta has built with Mai starts to crack, and the old scar on his chest begins to ache again. What unfolds is the franchise at its most tender and most gut-wrenching, using its Adolescence Syndrome premise to ask how much a person will give up for someone they love.
