About
Ayato Kamina lives an ordinary Tokyo life — until the day the city is attacked and he learns his entire world is a sealed illusion. Tokyo has been cut off from the rest of the planet inside a barrier where time crawls at a fraction of outside speed, ruled by mysterious invaders with blue blood called the Mu. Rescued (or abducted, depending who you ask) by an agent named Haruka, Ayato awakens the RahXephon, a god-like humanoid weapon that sings rather than roars, and crosses into the real world — where humanity's remnants are fighting the Mu, and where his classmate Reika keeps appearing in ways that shouldn't be possible. It's a mecha series that plays like a reverie: identity, memory, and melody braided into the war.
