About
Takashi Natsume has spent his life seeing things no one else can, shuffled between relatives who found him strange and difficult. When he inherits the Book of Friends, a ledger in which his late grandmother recorded the true names of the spirits she defeated, he becomes a target for every yokai who wants their name, and their freedom, back. Choosing kindness over power, Natsume decides to return the names one at a time, and through these gentle, self-contained encounters he slowly builds something he never had: friends, belonging, and a place to call home. His unlikely bodyguard, the cat-shaped spirit Nyanko-sensei, steals every scene.
