About
Hiroshi Odokawa is a blunt, insomniac taxi driver — depicted, like everyone else, as an anthropomorphic animal — who ferries an odd assortment of passengers around the city at night. Through their rambling conversations, a missing high-school girl, a desperate comedy duo, shady gangsters, and a self-absorbed influencer all turn out to be connected in ways no one sees coming. Told largely through dialogue, it slowly tightens from a low-key character study into a gripping crime thriller. Every offhand remark turns out to matter, and the payoff is masterful.
