About
Nichijou — 'My Ordinary Life' — follows a loose cast of students and oddballs whose everyday routines constantly detonate into cartoon chaos: a girl and her talking cat, a child genius who lives with a robot she built and a tiny sentient professor, and a trio of friends whose small dramas escalate to apocalyptic scale over nothing at all. There's barely a plot, and that's the point. Kyoto Animation pours blockbuster-level animation into the dumbest possible gags — a dropped sausage, a rock-paper-scissors match, a wobbling bike — and the collision of stakes and triviality is what makes it sing. It's comfort comedy at its most gorgeously unhinged.
