My Hero Academia

7.7TV · 13 eps · 2016

For an official stream, watch My Hero Academia on Crunchyroll, Hulu, or Netflix. This opening season is an easy recommendation for anyone who likes superhero action built around effort, character growth, and the ache of chasing a dream that seems impossibly far away. Izuku Midoriya gives the familiar weak-to-strong setup real emotional weight because his admiration for heroes is paired with a painful awareness of what he lacks. The school setting then turns that personal struggle into something broader, surrounding him with classmates who have their own abilities, ambitions, rivalries, and ideas about heroism. The action has plenty of showmanship, but rescue, teamwork, and self-sacrifice matter as much as winning a fight. Comedy keeps the school life lively without erasing the pressure beneath it. If you want a shounen series with a huge ensemble and a sincere belief in hard work, this is the place to begin.

About

In a society where extraordinary abilities are common, professional heroes stand between ordinary people and those who use their powers for crime. Izuku Midoriya has spent his childhood studying those heroes and dreaming of joining them, even though he was born without an ability of his own. His goal of entering U.A. High School's hero program looks hopeless, and the bullying he faces only sharpens the distance between his ideals and his circumstances. Everything changes after he encounters All Might, the hero he admires above everyone else. That meeting offers Izuku a chance to turn obsessive observation and instinctive courage into a genuine path forward. From there, My Hero Academia follows his first steps into a demanding world of training, competition, friendship, and danger. The season stays focused on what becoming a hero asks of a person, especially when bravery arrives before confidence or power. It is a coming-of-age story with superpowers, but its strongest hook is Izuku's stubborn refusal to abandon the person he wants to become.
