About

War has broken out between the Earth Federation and the breakaway space colonies of Zeon, and it lands on the doorstep of Amuro Ray — an ordinary, tech-obsessed teenager living on a neutral colony. When the fighting reaches his home, Amuro stumbles into the cockpit of the Federation's secret weapon, the mobile suit Gundam, and improbably makes it work. Alongside a crew of fellow refugees and green recruits aboard the warship White Base, he's pulled into a grinding conflict that treats its 'heroes' as scared kids first and soldiers second. It's a coming-of-age story told at the scale of a total war, and the template every mecha series since has been answering.
