When a new baby sister arrives, a spoiled young boy erupts with jealousy at suddenly no longer being the center of his parents' world. In the family's little garden he begins slipping into strange encounters with relatives from across time — most memorably a teenage version of his baby sister — and each visit nudges him, gently and hilariously, toward understanding his place in a family that stretches back generations. It's a small, warm story with a surprisingly deep sense of time and belonging.
