About
Memories can be removed from one body and placed inside another, allowing wealthy people to treat death as a problem money can solve. Those without power face a harsher reality, where a body can be bought and a personal history can be altered or taken. An amnesiac young man awakens in a damaged room with a hole in his chest and a pendant bearing an unfamiliar woman's image. After an attack forces him to flee, he travels through divided societies while trying to learn why his face frightens some of the people he meets. Each stop reveals another consequence of separating memory from flesh, while small clues gradually connect his missing past to the woman in the pendant.
