About
Romdo is a perfect city under glass: climate-controlled, curated, and quietly totalitarian, where humans live alongside AutoReiv android companions. Detective Re-l Mayer — sharp-eyed, aristocratic, permanently unimpressed — is assigned to investigate a wave of AutoReivs 'awakening' into violence. Her case collides with something the city's rulers desperately hide: a monstrous being called a Proxy, and an immigrant named Vincent whose meek exterior conceals a connection to it. When the investigation breaks open, the story leaves the dome for the poisoned world outside, becoming a philosophical road trip through dead cities and stranger truths.
