About
The war against the Angels escalates, and Shinji and Rei are no longer carrying it alone: the ferociously proud Asuka arrives from Europe, and a mysterious new pilot named Mari enters the board with an agenda nobody can read. Between battles, the film lets its damaged teenagers almost become friends — shared dinners, small kindnesses, the fragile beginnings of trust — which only raises the stakes when the next Angel assault threatens to trigger another apocalyptic Impact. It ends on one of the most audacious sequences in the entire franchise.
