Black Lagoon
Black Lagoon opens with a 12-episode first season that wastes little time pulling an ordinary salaryman into armed criminal work. Hulu and Netflix carry that season with subtitled and dubbed audio, while Crunchyroll no longer has it after the 2026 catalog change. The 2006 Madhouse production runs on sharp gunfights and the friction between Rock's old moral instincts and Revy's comfort with violence. Its action is loud, but the real hook is watching those two perspectives grind against each other. Pick it if you want a finished crime thriller with 24-minute episodes and very little downtime.
About
Rokuro Okajima is transporting a disc for his employer when pirates seize him in Southeast Asian waters. Once his company abandons him, he joins the Lagoon Company and starts answering to Rock. He becomes the crew's negotiator, working beside the volatile gunfighter Revy as each assignment draws them into Roanapur's criminal economy. Rock's business training helps him survive situations he barely understands, but every job tests how much of his former life and conscience he can keep.
