About
Academy City runs decades ahead of the rest of the world, a metropolis built around one field of study: esper powers. Most of its millions of students scrape by at low power levels — and then there's Mikoto Misaka, the 'Railgun,' one of only seven Level 5 espers in the city, capable of turning an arcade coin into a hypersonic projectile. Alongside her teleporting roommate Kuroko and their friends Uiharu and Saten, Mikoto keeps stumbling into the city's underside: urban legends that turn out true, experiments the administration would rather stay buried, and the uncomfortable question of what a city of ranked children does to the ones at the bottom.
