About
Hanamichi Sakuragi enters high school with a bleached-red pompadour, a delinquent reputation, and a record of fifty straight romantic rejections. Rejection fifty-one is loading — until Haruko Akagi, unafraid of his glare, asks the magic question: 'Do you like basketball?' Hanamichi, who has never played, lies instantly.
