Hajime no Ippo
Hajime no Ippo streams on Crunchyroll and Netflix — widely regarded as the greatest boxing anime ever made, and one of the finest sports anime full stop. It's an underdog story with real weight behind every punch.
About
Ippo Makunouchi is a shy, relentlessly bullied high-schooler who spends his afternoons helping at his mother's fishing shop and quietly wishing he were stronger. When a pro boxer named Takamura steps in to save him from his tormentors, Ippo gets his first taste of hitting a heavy bag — and discovers a fire he never knew was in him. He throws himself into training at the Kamogawa gym in pursuit of a deceptively simple question: what does it actually mean to be strong? What follows is a long, exhilarating climb through the amateur and professional ranks, driven by Madhouse's punishing, beautifully-timed fights and a genuinely lovable cast.
