Kamisama Kiss
Kamisama Kiss turns an accidental divine appointment into a playful supernatural romance set around a shrine. Crunchyroll, Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video carry this 2012 TV season. Its 13 episodes balance comedy with the friction between a novice deity and the fox spirit expected to help her. The result suits viewers who enjoy romantic bickering that slowly gives way to trust amid supernatural complications. With a 24-minute runtime, each episode is easy to fit into an evening, and a sequel awaits anyone eager to follow the relationship further.
About
After her father leaves town and she loses her home, Nanami helps a stranger in trouble. His peculiar thank-you is somewhere to live, but the address is a shrine and the offer transfers his role as its deity to her. Nanami now has spiritual obligations she never requested and little idea how to fulfill them. Her most obvious source of help is Tomoe, the shrine's prickly fox familiar, who resists accepting her authority. Their conflict supplies much of the comedy while a more tender connection gradually begins to form.
