Welcome to CITY, a town where ordinary life refuses to stay ordinary. Broke college student Midori Nagumo careens between get-rich-quick schemes and dodging her landlady, while around her an entire neighborhood of eccentrics — restaurant staff, shopkeepers, photographers, old men with mysterious agendas — collide in chain reactions of escalating nonsense. There's no plot to follow, just a marvelously constructed comedy machine where every resident's story ricochets into someone else's, and the town itself starts to feel like the main character.
