About
Akane Ousaki has long admired her father's work as a rakugo performer. When his attempt to reach the senior rank of shin'uchi ends painfully for their family, she decides to pursue the same profession. Still in high school, Akane must shape raw enthusiasm into control onstage and find a storytelling voice she can call her own. Rakugo leaves her alone before the audience, relying on speech and precise movement to suggest people who are never physically there. Shin'uchi remains her distant goal, while every lesson and appearance tests whether she can earn the room's attention.
