Reze
Chainsaw Man universe
A waitress is paid to make you feel welcome, and Reze makes that ordinary transaction worth paying attention to. I like having that everyday work as a starting point for watching her. It gives the question of how well you know someone a practical setting: you can spend time with a person, enjoy their company, and still know them mainly through the role they occupy. Reze rewards an interest in that distinction. My recommendation is to give her your attention before deciding what sort of character you want her to be.

Appearance
The waitress role is the useful starting point for reading Reze's presentation. Service work comes with an expectation of approachability, which can influence a viewer before they have formed an opinion of the person doing it. I find that a more interesting first impression to examine than a checklist of visual features. Notice what you expect from her because of her job, then give her room to be a person beyond it.
Personality
I would resist using a personality label as an instruction for watching Reze. Calling someone likable can become a surprisingly incurious response: you enjoy spending time with them and stop examining why. With her, I prefer to keep that enjoyment open to reconsideration. A waitress's attention also belongs to a working relationship, and recognising that makes your own response worth examining. How much of your impression comes from the person, and how much comes from being made to feel welcome? That is the reading I find most rewarding, without treating every pleasant interaction as a puzzle to solve.
Reze’s Story
Spoiler-free introduction
Begin with Reze as a waitress. That ordinary occupation offers enough of a foothold without turning your first viewing into an exercise in collecting background information. My advice is to let the everyday context count for something in its own right. Work is a substantial part of how people encounter each other, even when it tells them very little about each other's lives. Keeping that distinction in mind leaves space for your impression of Reze to develop through watching her. You do not need a verdict on her before you begin.
Spoilers beyond Reze's early introduction: affiliations
Reze's connections to the Soviet Union and Tokyo Special Division 5 put her waitress role in a much larger institutional context. For me, that makes the everyday starting point more interesting to revisit. A job can be an accurate description of someone's place in your experience while accounting for very little of their wider life. Those affiliations invite a broader reading of Reze, but I would not let either organisation become a complete explanation of her. The tension worth considering is between the individual you spend time watching and the institutions through which you might try to explain her.
