About
Jubei Kibagami is a wandering swordsman-for-hire who wants no part of anyone's war — until rescuing a poisoned kunoichi named Kagero drops a slow death into his own bloodstream and chains his survival to her mission. The trail leads through a village wiped out by 'plague,' a conspiracy moving gold in the shadows, and the Eight Devils of Kimon: a squad of grotesque superhuman killers, each one a set-piece nightmare of its own. Worse, the figure behind them is a ghost from Jubei's past who should be dead. It's a lean revenge-odyssey built from duels, each more inventive and brutal than the last.
